Way up in my tree I'm sitting by my fire Wond'rin' where in this world might you be

jimi with younger sis, janie

"When he was home, our world stopped. My parents would not work those days that he was home. No one was going to school. It was just a huge homecoming. My mom would cook all of his favorite foods because she would say how skinny he was, always being on the road."

Noting how Jimi was painfully shy in public, Janie Hendrix said that he was always soft-spoken but that he had a wonderful sense of humor. He'd love to play games. She recalled that when he came home, all the guitars stayed at the hotel or the venue, and it was just him. All he wanted to hear about was what was going on with their cousins, aunts and uncles.

"One thing that I always admired is that he always had a positive way of looking at things. He never dwelled on the negative."
"Jimi appreciated musicians who can create, feel and perform but that are part of the revolution. He spoke of a time of war. Not just overseas but also within out own communities, within our own cultures and our own backyard. He talks about all that, and here we are 40 years later and we're still at war. We're still trying to figure out how to get along. The lyrics in the songs are still messages to people, and it's really the golden rule on how to treat each other."

"He was a different kind of prophet. He had a message. A message of love. A power of soul. It's almost as if someone whispered into his ear that you're going to live until you're 27 and that's all you've got. He thought he had to make a difference."

Pamela Costume!

- wig - Teresa Synthetic Wig by Sepia (shade 130 Bright Red Auburn)
- contacts- FreshLook ColorBlends, color: Gemstone Green
- dress - FashionJunkee.com : Backless, Draped Back Boat Neck Long Sleeve Mini Dress, color White
- shoes - Lucky Brand : Lesh Platform Sandal, color Nude
- necklace - Forever21 : Aztec Beaded Necklace, color Brown/Black
Here is my Pamela Courson costume! It was fun trying to recreate her look (even though I don't look anything like her!!) I found the dress through http://pamelacoursonshop.blogspot.com/ which doesn't exist anymore. I found the shoes on sale at the mall and the necklace at Forever 21. The hardest thing was trying to find a wig and hoping it would be the right color. And I ordered contacts that I didn't even end up wearing because they were so difficult! No one knew who I was Halloween night... One person said "Lindsay Lohan??" But oh well I had fun!

“You only lose that which you cling to.”

“You take your life and make of it what you can. Open up your mind, stop thinkin’ ‘bout all of the things you will never show.” Silverchair

“I am still so naïve; I know pretty much what I like and dislike; but please, don’t ask me who I am. A passionate, fragmentary girl, maybe?” Sylvia Plath

“She was like a forest, like the dark interlacing of the oakwood, humming inaudibly with myriad unfolding buds. Meanwhile the birds of desire were asleep in the vast interlaced intricacy of her body.” D. H. Lawrence

“Self awakening enables you to see the human scene as it is, not as it appears to be, which frees you of its chaos.” Vernon Howard

"And I tried to be a girl who likes to be used, I’m too good for that! There’s a mind under this hat.” Laura Marling

I’m a girl from a good family who was very well brought up. One day I turned my back on it all and became a bohemian.

[I've been a vegetarian] since 1962, when I went on French television to denounce conditions of animal slaughter. That is when I became aware of the horror of factory farming, live transports and the killings of farm animals. I have always been sensitive to animal distress but from then on I refused to be involved in such inhuman industrial deaths.

They may call me a sinner, but I am at peace with myself.

I am shocking, impertinent and insolent - that's how it is

You can be barefoot and have worries. I have really been on the verge of suicide several times - it's a miracle that I am still alive.
