and we can be richer than industry as long as we know that there's things we don't really need

i saw willy mason  when he opened for sondre lerche in dallas on st. patricks day in 2007,
he was pretty great. every once in awhile this song oxygen gets stuck in my head for days, even if i haven't listened to it in a long time.
the words are so good. quality lyrics i tell ya

I wanna be better than oxygen,
so you can breathe when you're drowning and weak in the knees.
I wanna speak louder than ridilin,
for all the children who think they've got a disease.
I wanna be cooler than TV,
for all the kids that are wondering what they're going to be.

We can be stronger than bombs,
if you're singing along and you know that you really believe.
And we can be richer than industry,
as long as we know that theres things that we dont really need.
We can speak louder than ignorance,
cause we speak in silence every time our eyes meet.

On and On and On it goes,
the world it just keeps spinning.
Till Im dizzy, time to breathe,
So close my eyes and start again anew.

I wanna see through all the lies of society,
To the reality, happiness is at stake.
I wanna hold up my head with dignity,
pround of a life where to give means more than to take.
I wanna live beyond the modern mentality,
where paper is all that you really talk to create.

Do you remember the forgotten America,
Justice, equality, freedom to every race.
Just need to get past all the lie and hypocracy,
make-up and hair to the truth behind every face.
Then look around to all the people you see,
How many of them are happy and free?

I know it sounds like a dream,
but it's the only thing that can get me to sleep at night.
I know it's hard to believe,
but it's easy to see that something here isn't right.
I know the future looks dark,
but its there where the kids of today must carry the light.

On and on an on it goes,
the world it just keeps spinning.
Till I'm duzzy, time to breathe
So close my eyes and start again anew.

If I'm afraid to catch a dream,
Ill weave you baskets and float them down the river stream.
Each one i weave with words I speak,
to carry love to your relief.

Way up in my tree I'm sitting by my fire Wond'rin' where in this world might you be

jimi with younger sis, janie

"When he was home, our world stopped. My parents would not work those days that he was home. No one was going to school. It was just a huge homecoming. My mom would cook all of his favorite foods because she would say how skinny he was, always being on the road."
Janie Hendrix

Noting how Jimi was painfully shy in public, Janie Hendrix said that he was always soft-spoken but that he had a wonderful sense of humor. He'd love to play games. She recalled that when he came home, all the guitars stayed at the hotel or the venue, and it was just him. All he wanted to hear about was what was going on with their cousins, aunts and uncles.

"One thing that I always admired is that he always had a positive way of looking at things. He never dwelled on the negative."
Janie Hendrix

"Jimi appreciated musicians who can create, feel and perform but that are part of the revolution. He spoke of a time of war. Not just overseas but also within out own communities, within our own cultures and our own backyard. He talks about all that, and here we are 40 years later and we're still at war. We're still trying to figure out how to get along. The lyrics in the songs are still messages to people, and it's really the golden rule on how to treat each other."

"He was a different kind of prophet. He had a message. A message of love. A power of soul. It's almost as if someone whispered into his ear that you're going to live until you're 27 and that's all you've got. He thought he had to make a difference."

Pamela Costume!

  1. wig - Teresa Synthetic Wig by Sepia (shade 130 Bright Red Auburn)
  2. contacts- FreshLook ColorBlends, color: Gemstone Green
  3. dress - : Backless, Draped Back Boat Neck Long Sleeve Mini Dress, color White
  4. shoes - Lucky Brand : Lesh Platform Sandal, color Nude
  5. necklace - Forever21 : Aztec Beaded Necklace, color Brown/Black
Here is my Pamela Courson costume! It was fun trying to recreate her look (even though I don't look anything like her!!) I found the dress through which doesn't exist anymore. I found the shoes on sale at the mall and the necklace at Forever 21. The hardest thing was trying to find a wig and hoping it would be the right color. And I ordered contacts that I didn't even end up wearing because they were so difficult! No one knew who I was Halloween night... One person said "Lindsay Lohan??" But oh well I had fun!

“‎You only lose that which you cling to.”

“You take your life and make of it what you can. Open up your mind, stop thinkin’ ‘bout all of the things you will never show.” Silverchair

“I am still so na├»ve; I know pretty much what I like and dislike; but please, don’t ask me who I am. A passionate, fragmentary girl, maybe?”  Sylvia Plath

“She was like a forest, like the dark interlacing of the oakwood, humming inaudibly with myriad unfolding buds. Meanwhile the birds of desire were asleep in the vast interlaced intricacy of her body.” D. H. Lawrence

“You can be very wild and still be very wise.”  Yoko Ono

“Self awakening enables you to see the human scene as it is, not as it appears to be, which frees you of its chaos.”   Vernon Howard

"And I tried to be a girl who likes to be used, I’m too good for that! There’s a mind under this hat.”  Laura Marling

“Your state of mind’s improved, but we’re still apart.” Silverchair

"another time or place, another civilization
would really make this life feel so complete"  Neil Young

“Well, I’m not the same person I was yesterday, so how could you know me? How could I know you? I’m trying still to figure out who I was ten years ago.”   Ethan Hawke

Wednesday, December 22

I’m a girl from a good family who was very well brought up. One day I turned my back on it all and became a bohemian.

[I've been a vegetarian] since 1962, when I went on French television to denounce conditions of animal slaughter. That is when I became aware of the horror of factory farming, live transports and the killings of farm animals. I have always been sensitive to animal distress but from then on I refused to be involved in such inhuman industrial deaths.

I couldn't give anyone else roots if I was completely rootless myself.

It is sad to grow old but nice to ripen.

They may call me a sinner, but I am at peace with myself.
“You’re only as pretty as you pretend to be.”

I am shocking, impertinent and insolent - that's how it is

I really wanted to die at certain periods in my life. Death was like love, a romantic escape. I took pills because I didn't want to throw myself off my balcony and know people would photograph me lying dead below.

I do not feel that I have suffered great tragedies.

You can be barefoot and have worries. I have really been on the verge of suicide several times - it's a miracle that I am still alive.

I really am a cat transformed into a woman...I purr. I scratch. And sometimes I bite.

My mother used to say that Papa went through life with a rose in his hand. It was a charming notion.

I’m a girl from a good family who was very well brought up. One day I turned my back on it all and became a bohemian.
