waiting for the waves to carry us away

September by Nathan Moomaw

splashing in
tiny turtles digging in the sand.
waiting for awhile to splash our face,
waiting for the waves to carry us away.

if you were a color you'd be amber.
if you were a liquor you'd be red wine.
if you were a heartbeat you'd beat quicker.
if you were a lover, you'd be mine.

smiles,
like a bump in the road,
that shakes my tambourine
to the rhythm of the song on the radio.
sleepy creature of mine,
lapping up the last licks of sunshine
drowsy dreamer drop your eyes,
drift from daylight with my time.

i can't even find any pictures to put with this song, it's so beautiful.

reality vs....imaginary

I think i have acute delusionism. i don't know if such a thing exists. but i have it.
it's so easy for me to take a fact or an observation and think about it, then all of a sudden i have  the whole history of it made up in my head and i believe it. i forget that things exist outside of my imagination. and when the reality is made clear to me it hits me like tornado and i get confused and probably more upset than any sane person would.
sometimes i think it's okay though, to be a little weird. lots of great people who have created many great thing were a little weird. after watching Little Ashes, (with robert pattinson as salvador dali) i knew that dali was a little crazy, but was an amazing artist. i just wish i actually put that energy to something tangible instead of just living a life where i can't tell reality from dreams.
i've been listening to Audioslave, which i think is kinda funny because they're not the type of band i normally listen to. its the cd that came out when i was in middle school. the one with "Like a Stone" and i remember being in gym class in the 7th grade and we had a TV and it played music videos and this came on everyday. but when i listen to it now, its completely different song. funny how with time, the same thing can be so different.
there's this lyrics from track 8 "i am not you're rolling wheels/i am the highway/i am not your carpet ride/ i am the sky".  i really like it.

look upward into the branches

Lord, I give you my cluttered conscious mind- it's fears and joys, its failures and successes. Here it is for You to take and hold.
Now I give you my subconscious mind. You know I've no control over the passing patterns of thought or the dreams I might dream tonight, but You made me, and I will trust You. I go to sleep safe in Your keeping. Good night, dear Lord.

Slow me down, Lord! Ease the pounding of my heart by the quieting of my mind. Steady my hurried pace with a vision of the eternal reach of times. Give me, amidst the confusion of my day, the calmness of the everlasting hills. Break the tension of my nerves and muscles with the soothing music of the singing streams that live in my memory. Help me to know the magical restorative power of sleep. Teach me the art of taking minute vacations... of slowing down to look at a flower, to chat with a friend, to pat a dog, to read a few lines from a good book. Remind me each day of the fable of the hare and tortoise that I may know that the race is not always to the swift that there is more to life than increasing speed. Let me look upward into the branches of the towering oak, and know that it grew because it grew slowly and well. Slow me down, Lord, and inspire me to send my roots deep into the soil of life's enduring values, that I may grow toward the stars of your rewards. Amen.
